Arden Oaks is one of Sacramento’s many desirable neighborhoods. Charming and upscale, it is located in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento, roughly bordered by Mayral Drive, Arden Way, and Watt and Eastern Avenues. 

The streets are spacious and tree-lined with palatial homes and manicured lawns. Residents have taken such pride in their community that the homeowners’ association puts on their own Fourth of July parade, where neighbors come on bikes, skateboards, carts, and Model Ts adorned in red, white and blue streamers, balloons, and flags. They make their way through the neighborhood, stopping midway for homemade root beer, and culminating at Windmere Park, where the festivities continue with a watermelon feed, pie-eating contest, and a three-legged race.

Comprised mainly of larger, aesthetically appealing ranch houses and cottages, the neighborhood is in a world of its own amidst the city’s premier shopping areas. A Whole Foods is just around the corner, and the Pavilions Shopping Center and Loehman’s Plaza are situated just blocks, yet seemingly worlds, away – convenient yet unobtrusive. For dining, there’s an eclectic row of restaurants on Fair Oaks Boulevard between Morse and Howe.

A number of parks are nestled throughout the area and are gathering places for families and friends for everything from toddler play and tennis to soccer and swimming. The community is served by the San Juan Unified School District, as well as a number of private schools and preschools.
